EVANSVILLE, Ind. – On the eve of the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Team Tennis Championship, a celebration took place at the Bauerhaus as the top student-athletes in the league were honored for their accomplishments this season. Among them were University of Evansville senior Marketa Trousilova.
For the third time in as many seasons with the Purple Aces, Trousilova was named to the MVC All-Select Team. She is just the third UE player to earn an All-Conference accolade on three occasions. Jessica Jetton did so from 2003-05 while Kate Chybowski accomplished the feat in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
Another strong season saw Trousilova go 15-13 in singles play while teaming with Marina Moreno to go 13-4 in doubles. The duo won four of their six MVC tilts with all six coming in flight one. On her own, Trousilova went 4-3 in Valley play. All of her singles efforts from the fall and spring came at the top flight.
Trousilova has also done a stellar job in the classroom and was rewarded with a berth on the Scholar-Athlete First Team. The Communications major has a GPA of 3.761.
Tomorrow, Trousilova and her teammates begin their quest for a championship as they will take on Southern Illinois at 10 a.m. The tournament will be hosted at Wesselman Park and admission is free to everyone.
