The 2012-13 Evansville women’s basketball season is just a day away, as the Purple Aces host Southern Indiana Saturday at Noon at the Ford Center.  With that in mind, GoPurpleAces.com posed 10 questions to redshirt senior and Evansville native Chelsea Falkenstein for its third installment of “10 Questions With…”

Question 1:
The 2012-13 Aces are loaded with senior leadership, as you are one of four seniors on the squad.  What are the expectations and goals for the upcoming season?

We are expected to work hard every possession and to focus on the details.  We are approaching every game with a 1-0 mentality, and our goal is to win the MVC championship.

Question 2:
On or off the court, what is the best advice that you have been given?

My dad reminds me that I have been playing basketball for about 16 years now.  Since this is my last year, he tells me to make the most out of every game because I will never get this chance again.

Question 3:
With Mallory Ladd transferring to Evansville, you have been reunited with a former high school teammate.  What is it like having another Memorial standout on the squad this season?

I am really glad that I have another opportunity to play with Mallory.  She is the type of player that makes other players around her better.  I love her energy and passion for the game.

Question 4:
Your “senior” season came to an early last season due to injury.  What does it mean to you to have another chance at a senior season and what opportunities has having this extra season given you?

I think I learned a lot from sitting out last year.  I got to watch things from a different perspective, which I think will help me this year.  I am just so thankful that I get another chance at it.  This year I am not taking anything for granted.  I am going to try and play each game like it’s my last.

Question 5:
What is your favorite dessert?

Cookie-brownie bars, which are half chocolate chip cookies and half brownies.  I like to eat them with vanilla ice cream.

Question 6:
If you could travel to one destination in your lifetime where would it be?

Australia

Question 7:
Do you speak any other languages and if not, if you could learn one, what would it be?

I took a little bit of Spanish, but I am nowhere near fluent.  I would love to be able to speak Spanish fluently.

Question 8:
What was the worst outfit that your mom dressed you in?

No matter what my mom dressed me in, she always put a huge bow in my hair.  I had so many huge, colorful bows to go with my outfits.  So, I will have to say the bows in general were the worst.

Question 9:
Do you have any pregame rituals?

I eat a few Sweet Tarts before the game.

Question 10:
So far, what has been your best moment as a Purple Ace?

Winning the MVC and going to the NCAA tournament my freshman year
