EVANSTON, Ill.—The University of Evansville swimming and diving team has once again earned academic honors, as both the women and men’s team made the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar-Athlete All-American list.

The women’s team jumped to a tie for 10th place this year with a 3.43 GPA after being tied for 19th last year. It marks the sixth time in the last eight years that the women have made the list. After being absent from last year's list, the men's team made the rankings with a 3.0 GPA.

“At the beginning of the year, each team made academic goals,” said Evansville head coach Rickey Perkins. “The women obviously met their goal. The just did a fantastic job and each and every one of them worked hard to meet that goal. The men’s goal was to get over a 3.0 in the fall, and they achieved that. They focused on that one single goal, and I’m proud at how hard they competed to reach that goal.”

The list recognizes those programs that achieve a grade point average of 3.00 or higher in the fall semester. The list consists of 341 teams, representing 241 colleges and universities. This is the largest number of award recipients since the CSCAA raised the criteria for selection in 2008.
