The first-annual University of Evansville women’s basketball “Cow Drop sponsored by F.C. Tucker Emge Realtors” will take place on Saturday, August 22 at the Eykamp Scout Center located at 3501 East Lloyd Expressway in Evansville.  Raffle tickets for the Cow Drop are $25, with one lucky winner getting the chance to walk away with $1,000.

The Cow Drop will begin with a lunch being served for $5 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on August 22.  The actual Cow Drop will officially begin at 1:00 p.m., as the cow will be released into the fenced-in grid area and allowed to roam and graze until it “drops.” 

How You Can Win:

Each raffle ticket sold for the Cow Drop will be placed into a sealed container, drawn randomly, and placed onto the Cow Drop grid.  The one winning ticket will represent the square in which the cow drops in.  In the event of the cow dropping in multiple squares, the square with the most substance will win.  If there appears to be a tie, the square that was dropped in first will win.  The official judge will determine the winner.  The winner will be given a check in the amount of $1,000.00.  If the winner is not present, the name on the winning ticket will be notified and arrangements will be made for payment.

The Calcutta--Another Way To Win:

In addition to the Cow Drop, there will be a Calcutta which will take place on Thursday, August 20.  The Calcutta will begin with a social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. at The Pub Banquet Room, where soda, beer, wine and snacks will be provided (well drinks will be charged).  The Calcutta itself will begin at 7:00 p.m.

At the Calcutta, each of the 20 rows of the cow’s fenced-in grid will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with the minimum bid being $20.  The winning square of the Cow Drop will also determine the winning row in the Calcutta.  The owner of the winning row will be paid the cost of the purchase of the row, plus an additional 50 percent of the overall Calcutta proceeds.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the UE women’s basketball program.  Tickets for the Cow Drop are currently available through the UE women’s basketball office, The Pub, and the F.C.
