The University of Evansville men's soccer team produced its second nationally honored player of 2009 today when junior midfielder Robby Lynch was chosen for the NSCAA/adidas Men's College Scholar All-America Team.
Teammate Mike Luttrull was chosen last month for the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Men's Soccer Academic All-America Team.
Lynch was a first team all-Missouri Valley Conference midfielder, a second team NSCAA All-Midwest Region selection, a first team member of the MVC Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team, and a finalist for the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Men's Soccer Academic All-America Team. He finished second in scoring for UE this fall with five goals and five assists for 15 points. An exercise science major, Lynch has a 3.58 GPA.
Evansville finished with a 12-8-1 record for its fourth consecutive winning season under fourth year coach Mike Jacobs. The Aces reached the MVC Tournament finals for the first time since 1996 and had four players chosen for the All-Midwest Region Team in addition to the national scholastic honors earned by Lynch and Luttrull.
