University of Evansville soccer standouts Julie Winkler and Kayla Lambert have been chosen for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-Central Region Scholar Team. Winkler was a first team selection and Lambert made the third team. The central region includes 12 states, and the scholar team consists of players from all NCAA and NAIA divisions.

Both Winkler and Lambert are three-year starters for the Purple Aces, and will be entering their senior year in 2008. Winkler was a first team selection as a midfielder on the 2007 all-Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Team, and was chosen first team for the second year in a row on the MVC Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team. Winkler will be one of Evansville's two team captains this season. Lambert has been an all-conference forward in each of her first three years at UE and, like Winkler, is a two-time selection to the MVC Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team. Lambert is just 11 points away from becoming the leading scorer in Evansville history.

Winkler takes a grade point average of 3.93 into her senior year, majoring in movement science. Lambert is a business management major with a 3.44 GPA.
