Widener To Represent UE At NCAA Conference
University of Evansville soccer player Kellee Widener has been selected to attend the NCAA National Student-Athlete Leadership Conference, May 25-29 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The conference is limited to 233 student-athletes representing NCAA institutions. Evansville's other three nominees were basketball player Zach House, softball player Jamie Lindauer, and soccer player Ally Mackay. “We had four outstanding nominees, and Kellee is very deserving of this opportunity,” said UE Associate Director of Athletics Sarah Solinsky. Widener just completed her junior year at UE. The midfielder from McKinney, Texas has been chosen as a team captain for the 2008 season along with classmate Julie Winkler.
