Well, this is a second time writing this since my email decided to go insane and erase my first entry! All of us made it home safe and sound from New Hampshire, a little tired and jet-lagged, but still in one piece! We were split into two groups for the flights and my group had the lovely 1 am departure time from campus on Thursday morning after we played (and beat!) SIUE. Being split up into two groups made us feel like we didn’t see our teammates for so long!
New Hampshire is a beautiful place, it was the first time many of us had been in that part of the country. Plus, we went 2-1 and played extremely well and up to our potential on Saturday. This is the team that we have been looking for all season! After tying for first place in the tournament, Coach took us to Maine for a fresh seafood dinner – well, seafood for those of us that are not afraid of it! Sally and I decided to try lobster for the first time and had an interesting time getting all of the meat out of it. Thankfully the restaurant had good directions for us! We were great entertainment for our parents that came to support us. Mr. Nixon was very impressed at our ability to food that food away. In fact, he thought it was “incredible” to quote him on it!
Conference starts this weekend for us and we are ready to make a statement in the Valley. Both the ISU’s come to visit this weekend, Friday and Saturday at 7. Come support!

It has been a busy past month for the Aces Volleyball team! And this Sunday, we got to enjoy a day off after a good weekend in Chicago. We went to Loyola this past weekend and saw a glimpse of how good our team can be! We went 3-1, losing to Loyola in the finals. It was a tough match, but we all came out of the tournament feeling proud of how we played. It was much more encouraging than our last tournament, so the improvement was inspiring.
Wednesday is our first home match and I know all of the girls are excited! We finally get to play in front of our home crowd. It is vital that we carry over our level of play from the weekend, and bring that to the game on Wednesday. The girls are excited that we don't have to travel, even though our rides have been more than amusing; we have had some interesting bus-driving experiences the past couple weeks to say the least! So fans, make sure you come out and support our team.
New Hampshire is our next road trip destination and we will take all prayers because we are flying out on September 11! I know some of the girls are a little nervous about the date, but I am sure it will be a successful trip and I am hopeful we will bring home 3 wins!

Well, we've been practicing for four weeks and our preseason games and tournaments are fully underway! We had a great preseason and are seeing a ton of talent from our incoming players! After our two weeks of two-a-days were over, we had a fun day at our team outing! From being blindfolded and communicating Helen Keller style, to trekking through the woods looking for birds nests, mushrooms, and rocks, to watching Kerry hilariously struggle walking through her arms, and to an eating contest finale, it was a really fun afternoon! Aside from that, we've been working really hard since August 11 and we're hoping to find some wins ASAP! After learning a lot about our strengths and weaknesses this weekend, we're hoping to overcome the losses with a big win at Belmont and maybe even a tournament victory in Chicago this weekend!? Wish us luck!
