Bloomington, Ind.- The University of Evansville women’s tennis team lost its first match of the spring semester season against the Western Michigan Broncos 6-1 Sunday at the Indiana University Tennis Center in Bloomington, Indiana.
Junior Kate Chybowski was the lone point in today’s defeat by beating Maggie Remynse 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4).
Other singles results were Emily Dudzik (WMU) def. Dora Kotsiou 6-7, 6-3, 1-0, (10-4), Amanda Moccia (WMU) def. Ashton Schwerin 6-2, 6-1, Jill Pastunink (WMU) def. Pin Sorensen 6-1,6-2, April Kerr (WMU) def. Aleksandra Dzakula 6-2, 7-5, Rachel Denny (WMU) def. Carolyn Caire.
In doubles Amanda Moccia/Jill Pastunink (WMU) def. Kate Chybowski/Dora Kotsiou 8-4, Yumi Matsuto/April Kerr (WMU) Def. Pin Sorensen/Ashton Schwerin 8-1, Rachel Denny/Maria Nivia (WMU) def. Aleksandra Dzakula/Jessica Raatz 8-1.
The Aces begin a four-match homestand starting January 29 at 6:00 p.m. against IPFW at Tri-State Athletic Club.
