The University of Evansville Women’s Tennis team will open the 2010 spring season on Sunday as the Purple Aces battle the Western Michigan Broncos. Match time is set for 2:30 p.m. in Bloomington, Indiana.

This past fall season could be remembered as one of the best for the Aces with many highlights. UE  took complete domination of the Aces Fall Classic with the Aces taking home wins in all the single flights and in both double flights. At the IPFW Invitation, the Aces captured four titles, as Kate Chybowski, Dora Kotsiou and Jessica Raatz won in singles and Chybowski and Dora Kotsiou won in doubles.  

The State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships were held in Evansville on October 9-11. Fighting rainstorms throughout the tournament, the Aces were able to battle their future conference opponents with freshman Carolyn Caire earning runner-up in singles after losing to Martina Cé of Southern Illinois 6-4, 6-4.

Chybowski and Kotsiou were invited to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women's Ohio Valley Championships held in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 22-26. Both Chybowski and Kotsiou knocked off foes from Louisville and Cincinnati in singles competition before falling in the round of 32. The two paired up for doubles and advanced to the sweet 16 before falling to a tough Tennessee team.

It was announced last week that Chybowski achieved a ranking of No. 28 for the Ohio Valley Region in the most recent poll for the ITA poll.
