Brittany Herald won the regular season batting title in the MVC hitting .400 with nine home runs.
Herald Named NFCA First Team Mideast All-Region

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Evansville senior first baseman Brittany Herald has been named to the 2008 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) first team all-mideast region.
Herald had an outstanding senior campaign, leading the Missouri Valley Conference with a .400 batting average. The Old Hickory, Tenn. native compiled ten home runs, 34 RBI, and 32 runs scored. At the plate, Herald struck out just nine times while drawing 20 walks.
Herald’s home run at the 2008 State Farm MVC Tournament against Missouri State tied the career mark set by Jessica Huff (’98-01) of 23. In just three seasons at UE, Herald finished her career as the leader in batting average (.376), slugging percentage (.631), and on-base percentage (.481) while also finishing in the top five in five other categories.
Herald was also named to the second team all-mideast region in 2006 and was named first team all-conference and to the all-tournament team this season.
